Jenny Lendrum

Jenny started her career in education and completed her English degree, PGCE and Master’s Degree at Queen’s University, Belfast. As an English teacher she enjoyed her first permanent job in Foyle College where she taught for 2 years before moving to Grosvenor Grammar School where she taught for 11 years. During that time, she was a Senior Teacher and completed her Professional Qualification for Headship (NI).

Alongside this she worked in CCEA as a Reviser for English and was a co-writer for several textbooks to support pupils and staff in GCSE English Language. She then moved to Antrim Grammar School to be Vice Principal and enjoyed that position for 3 years before becoming Principal of Antrim Grammar School where she led in that role for 5 years.

Following that, she was appointed as Principal of Methodist College in 2022 and is now in her third year in post. Speaking about her appointment as High Sheriff of County Antrim, Jenny remarked; “It is a privilege to be High Sheriff of County Antrim for 2025. I am very much looking forward to the role and the year ahead.”

County Antrim


County Antrim (named after the town of Antrim, from Irish Aontroim, meaning 'lone ridge') is one of the six counties of Northern Ireland, located within the historic province of Ulster. Bordered to the South-West by Lough Neagh, the Irish Sea to the East and the Atlantic Ocean to the North with County Down to the South. The County covers an area of 3,086 square kilometres (1,192 square miles) and has a population of 651,321.

The Antrim Coast and Glens are designated as an area of outstanding natural beauty and offer isolated rugged landscapes, the Giant’s Causeway is a geological wonder and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Bushmills is the home of the world’s oldest licensed whiskey distillery, and Portrush is a popular seaside resort with the renown Royal Portrush Golf Club. The majority of Belfast, the capital city of Northern Ireland, is in County Antrim, with the remainder being in County Down.
